The purpose of the project includes providing technical assistance to project beneficiaries and implementing the activities relating to the “Access to Finance”. It also entails the capacity building of the Apex Bank of Sierra Leone and its rural financial institutions (partner financial institutions (PFIs), community banks and financial service associations. IRM helped the Apex Bank to develop microfinance advocacy unit, recruit local staff to manage the unit and roll out IMF framework to the Apex Bank and its network of PFIs. Moreover, IRM developed capacity building/training manual and delivered training to the relevant stakeholders of the project.
